The superbowl is *NOT* broadcast live throughout the US! This is potentially important to those of you betting on it; if you're on the east coast, you may be making bets on a game that people on the west coast already saw the *end* of. The Superbowl is really only "live" on the west coast. The show is delayed progressively further and further as you go east; it actually starts three hours later in New York, for instance, than in Los Angeles. You can confirm this yourself by looking at TV guide listings around the country. Bookies have been making a fortune off this since the nationwide broadcasts of the superbowl began; west coast bookies call their friends on the east coast as the game goes on, and the east coast bookies set odds based on plays that won't be reported on the east coast for three more hours. If you want to see the Superbowl as soon as possible, and you don't live on the west coast, be sure to visit friends on the coast during the game. -s -- Copyright 2001, all wrongs reversed.
